Cadet, the Future Champions

The “Cadet, the Future Champions” initiative, launched by Samuel Asare-Bediako and supported by Robert Selassie Setorwofia, aims to provide cadets with a platform to compete in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere.

The programme seeks to nurture discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship while giving cadets an opportunity to showcase their talents and develop confidence.

The first to third events of the initiative saw an exciting competition between Big House TTC, Nungua and Vilcabamba Babies. Of these, Vilcabamba was victorious for the first edition and Big house won the second and third editions.

The recent competition which is the fourth edition saw the addition of Blue Rose TTC. The day was filled with energy, camaraderie, and a spirit of healthy competition, as cadets demonstrated both skill and determination in every match.

The competitions included both team and singles events, allowing each participant to shine individually and collectively. By the end of the tournament, Blue Rose TTC emerged victorious, claiming top honours in both the team and singles categories. In the singles event, Louis Kinful and Tony Boye from Blue Rose demonstrated remarkable talent, finishing first and second respectively. Big House TTC’s Lawrence Ahorsu and Rosemond Tali also impressed with strong performances, rounding up the top four.

The cadets were guided and supported by their dedicated coaches throughout the day. Coach Michael Appiah of Big House, Joy Donkor of Vilcabamba, and Lord Kinful of Blue Rose played key roles in preparing their teams, offering guidance and motivation that was evident in the cadets’ performances.

Looking ahead, the next event is scheduled between March and April, with plans to include around six clubs: Vilcabamba, Ashaiman, Nungua, Big House, Blue Rose, and Chorkor.

Expectations are high as the initiative continues to grow, promising more thrilling competitions and greater opportunities for cadets to develop into the champions of tomorrow.

The tournament was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and the spirit of cadetship. With such a strong start, “Cadet, the Future Champions” is well on its way to becoming a cornerstone programme for young cadets seeking to hone their skills, build confidence, and embrace the values of sportsmanship.
