
DAVID ASHONG TIPPED TO WIN THE 2025 HOMOWO CHAMPIONSHIP
All eyes will be on experienced table tennis player David Nii Ashong, popularly known as Cee Nortey in table tennis circles, at this year’s Homowo Table Tennis Championship, as many tip the Ghana National Fire Service star to emerge as champion in one of the country’s most competitive national tournaments.
Ashong, a seasoned campaigner, has already proven his quality on the table by winning gold at an international veterans competition, a triumph that underlined his strength and experience in high-level contests. He also impressed on the local circuit, finishing second in the 2023 GTTA Power Series 1 after losing a hard-fought final to Augustine Baidoo. His composure, grit, and tactical awareness have made him one of the most respected names in the game.
The Homowo Championship, to be staged at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium, will bring together over 280 players from across Ghana.
