SAMUEL AKAYADE ADVANCES TO THE ROUND OF 32 IN MEN’S SINGLES WITH EMPHATIC WINS

Table Tennis star Samuel Akayade who plies his trade with the Ghana Army has qualified to the round of 32 in the Men’s Singles competition at the African Games 2023 after defeating Mutasim El Idris of Sudan and Exauce Ngefuasssa of Congo. Akayade made light work of his opponents defeating Mutasim El Idris of Sudan by 3-1 (11-2, 11-4, 7-11 and 11-5) in the round of 128 and Exauce Ngefuasssa of Congo 3-0 (11-6, 11-2 and 11-3) in the round of 64.

An elated Akayade has assured team Ghana of an improved performance in his next match to ensure he progresses to the quarter final. There have been wins for his team mates Emmanuel Commey, Ernest Mawutor Quarcoo, Celia Baah Danso, Cythia Kwabi and Eva Adom-Amankwaa. Under the guidance of Coach Anthony Owusu Ansah and Ebenezer Annang-Whyte, Ghana will be aiming at medals in the African Games 2023.
